Job description
For our R&D facilities in Bluechem (Antwerp), we are currently seeking a scientific coworker to join our team. Do You have experience with biomaterials and cell testing and do you enjoy doing this? Responsibilities
- Functionalization of biopolymers;
- Design and execute chemical and biological characterization;
- Creative development of new technologies and test methods;
- Perform controlled polymerization reactions;
- Stays up to date on scientific literature and present results to other team members;
- Advising the engineering team;
- Work accurately
Profile
Research and development of materials, proceses and products with a strong focus to biomedical applications.
- A completed PhD or MS in Biomaterials, Polymer Science, Medicinal Chemistry, Biomedical Engineering or related;
- Practical experience in synthetic organic chemistry;
- Preferably experience in biotechnology and nanomaterials;
- Experience with biodegradable hydrogels and tissue scaffolding;
- Having the ability to transform ideas into a practical solutions;
- Be a source of creative solutions for unmet needs in the field of MedTech;
- Experience in characterization methods, analytical chemistry and processing techniques (UV VIS, FTIR, NMR, rheology, 3D printing, ….)
- Experience with cel tests is a plus;
- Problem-solving skills for developing creative and innovative solutions;
- Familiarity with working under GMP;
- Highly motivated;
- Independently, accurately and keeping a good overview;
- Good knowledge of the Dutch language, spoken and written;
